The HAT People: Lost In The Desert

I voted for George W. Bush twice and stayed up all night watching the returns, hoping for his eventual victory because I thought he would be great for our country. Now, I regret not only my votes but the support I have given him and the Republican Party over the years. They have betrayed my trust and betrayed our country.

What is even more painful is that I do not think Republicans care that those who voted for them feel betrayed. And I do not think Republicans care that those of us in the middleclass will have to pay the price for the poverty and loss of job opportunities they are creating in this country with the amnesty bill and lack of immigration enforcement. In one-year-and-a-half, Mr. Bush will go back to his ranch and write his book or whatever ex-presidents do but my family and I will have to pay the higher taxes to support the greater influx of illegals that will enter this country after Republicans give amnesty to the 12 million plus who are already here. As well, we will have to pay those taxes with less income since the illegals have been driving down the wages for the average American.

I do not understand why Republicans are destroying this nation. I only wish I had not been a part of it by voting Mr. Bush into office. President Bush has led conservatives into the desert and abandoned us. Who will lead us out?
